Working Relations Audit:
The TCM Conflict Health Check™

Skilled mediators are now able to achieve results satisfactory to both parties in many cases which are quite beyond the powers of lawyers and courts.
Lord Justice Brooke (Dunnett v Railtrack PLC) 2002

Are you concerned about the impact of conflict?

Total Conflict Management has developed a unique Conflict Health Check™ that allows you to examine the specific nature of conflict and conflict resolution across your organisation. This includes issues such as the level and impact of bullying & harassment; grievances; discrimination, customer complaints and litigation;  team conflict and conflict with your suppliers.

The TCM Conflict Health Check offers best practice in quantitative and qualitative research methods. The TCM Conflict Health Check utilises one, some or all of the following research methods:
  • Questionnaires to a sample population
  • Analysis of existing data (useful for identifying trends and patterns of conflict)
  • Analysis of existing policy and procedures in place (Using our innovative Traffic Light Inventory CTLI)
  • Focus groups with key stakeholders
  • Observational research.
  • Semi structured interviews with key stakeholders and decision makers
  • Online and web based discussions and research

The TCM Conlict Health Check will examine seven key factors relating to organisational conflict:

  1. Stuctural factor
  2. Functional (role) factors
  3. Cultural factors
  4. Leadership factors
  5. Factors arising from the management of change
  6. Political, Economic, Sociolological and Technical (PEST) factors
  7. Psychodynamic (interpersonal) factors
Mediation is much more interactive than litigation. It enables the parties to participate to a greater degree in exposing and resolving the issues at stake. They have a sense of ownership of the resolutions they agree which they do not have for court imposed solutions.
Lord Irving, Lord Chancellor (2002)

What we do and how we do it

Using our tried and tested Conflict Health Check, we will assess the the antecedents, the causes, the effects, the impact and the costs of conflict across your organisation. We will also explore current dispute resolution mechanisms and their overall effectiveness.

We work within strict ethical standards and produce a detailed final report outlining clear recommendations for action to help you as you develop your conflict management strategy. In addition, the data collected will be used to establish benchmark indicators, against which you can measure the future success of your conflict managment strategy.

The outcome of the Conflict Health Check wil be a bespoke and highly effective conflict management strategy for your business or organisation. Alternatively, you may wish to pilot it in a small part of your business and assess its effectiveness before rolling it out.
